Application

The WNH trace heater is used for freeze prevention and temperature maintenance on vessels, pipes, valves, etc. It may be immersed in fluids. For use in aggressive en[1]vironments (e.g. in chemical or petrochemical industry), the trace heater is coated with a special chemically resistant outer jacket (fluoropolymer).

3.When should I turn my heat tape on?
Self-regulated heat tapes don’t get very hot at all which is why they aren’t helpful to unfreeze pipes. In fact, they should be installed on your pipes long before the first freeze. The new self-regulated heat tapes will turn on when the temperature gets below 40 to 38 degrees.

4.Can you cut trace heating cable?
Self regulating heat tracing cables can be cut to length in the field and will never overheat. All self regulating heating cables have a maximum exposure temperature. If the cables are exposed to temperatures above this level, they may become damaged beyond repair.

5.Can you cut heat tape to length?
With the exception of cut-to-length heat tape (which is not available for online sale, though you can contact us to find out more), you cannot trim heat tape to length. in a grounded version for applications in ordinary locations up to 305°F.
