What are the construction techniques and inspection standards for electric heat tracing?

The construction process of electric heat tracing includes the following:

1)Remove oil and water from the surface of the pipeline within the thermal insulation range, and then stick it on the surface of the pipeline with a special tape.

2)Wrap the self-controlling heating tape close to the surface of the pipe to facilitate heat transfer.

3)When installing the accessories of the self-controlling electric heating belt, a certain amount of surplus should be reserved for the self-controlling heating heating belt, which is convenient for maintenance and repeated use. The electric heating cable at the valve, flange and other equipment that may be replaced should adopt a special winding method to ensure that it can be disassembled during maintenance.

4)Electric control box, power supply installation. After the installation is completed, the insulation test should be carried out with a 500V or 1000V megohmmeter. The insulation resistance between the core of the heating tape and the braided mesh or metal pipe should not be less than 2M.

5)The insulation material must be dry, and the quality and thickness of the material must be guaranteed. The appearance is intact, the insulation is smooth and compact, and the seams are tightly assembled.

6)Clean up the site.

Notes:

1)All kinds of electric heating cables have minimum bending radius requirements when they are installed and laid. Excessive bending will damage the electric heating cables.

2)The electric heating cables laid in parallel along the pipeline are generally installed under the pipeline and at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizontal axis of the cross section of the pipeline. If two electric heating cables are used, they should be laid symmetrically.

3)When installed on the container, the electric heating tape should be wound around the middle and lower part of the container, usually not more than 2/3 of the height of the container, generally 1/3.

4)For electric heat tracing of non-metallic pipes, a metal sheet (aluminum foil) should be sandwiched between the outer wall of the pipe and the electric heat tracing tape to improve the heat tracing effect.

5)When installing electric heating cable, it is necessary to fully consider the possibility of disassembly of pipeline accessories and equipment to ensure that the electric heating cable itself is not damaged.

6)When installing accessories, it is required that rubber rings, washers, fasteners, etc. are complete, installed correctly and tightly to prevent loosening or water entering the box.
